Since I was a child, I always loved watching my mom cook. When I was old enough, she would let me help her. But when I reached my teenage years, I would cook dishes on my own already. I think that through watching my mom, I was able to get her talent in cooking.

Anyway, I am now married and I am excited that my husband has realized my passion for cooking. He realized this by renovating our kitchen. He told me that he instructed the designer to make it a Deluxe Big & Bright Kitchen where I will be able to cook great dishes. I can’t wait for it to be finished!

With the kids growing up fast, it was time to change the look of their room. Their old room was actually designed for just one kid, my eldest. Since the addition of three more, it was high time to revamp the space to make it more comfortable and functional. Add to that the baby blue and yellow color is absolutely too childish for these teens.

I quickly went to work and changed the room color to black and white. With the help of my boys, I got rid of the old bed and the furniture. I purchased metal bunk beds to maximize the floor space and be able to place 4 tables for their studying and reading. With a few arrangements and functional pieces added in, the room was up and ready for its four boarders. The room for the boys was one easy fix project.

My son just graduated from pre-school. It was just a heart-warming experience, not just for me, but for all the parents that I witnessed watching their little babies grow into young boys and girls. It is exciting but sad at the same time to see these recent babies now about to enter yet again another stage in their lives. There are so many changes that will happen.

First and foremost is that they will now be entering the “real” school. The environment, though in most cases still best for the child, may be a little stricter than pre-school. The physical environment will also be different. Kids tables are now going to be “big kids” school tables and chairs - and not anymore colourful reds and bright greens. So many changes for the little kid, but definitely an exciting phase in their life!

Store books properly so they can give you pleasure for years to come. Book stands and book cases not only provide proper space for books but also enhance the look of a study room or office. These essential pieces of furniture will help preserve books so that the next generations in your family can still enjoy the contents of each tome.

Book stands and book cases can also be used to display photos and other collections. You may want to buy book storage spaces with glass doors to protect the books from dust and dirt. Make sure that books are placed in strong and stable stands and cases as a group of volumes can become quite heavy. Arrange books according to height or spine colors to make them pleasing to the eyes.

My four boys share one room. When they were all still small, they could fit on a large mattress on the floor. But, as they grow, the older ones started complaining about the sleeping space. My husband and I saved money to buy two metal bunk beds.

Finally, each of the boys has his own bed now. They are all happy with the arrangements. Thankfully, the two little ones agreed to take the lower bunks. I was afraid they might fall off in the middle of the night when they wake in the dark and become disoriented in case they need to go to the bathroom.

Being a kid can be fun, but it can be challenging too. Sometimes, kids have to try and fit into a grownup world, where everything can be big and bulky. They may not be as comfortable in big oversized items that are made for adults. Kids need items that fit them just right, such as kids chairs that they can use when they are studying or spending the day making their artwork.

Having the right-sized furniture for kids can be more conducive for them to read, study, or play. It is safer for them too, because parents need not worry about bumps and bruises when they fall off the chair. When shopping for kids’ furniture, make sure you are buying durable items that are made from nontoxic materials, so you can be sure that they are safe and sound.

Children are such joys to have. Despite their tendency to be noisy and messy, a smile or a hug from is worth it all. Children are so versatile and find it so easy to adapt. The first thing they try to do is learn to support their own head. With this, they move on to sitting on their own and finally walking on their own.

Children will then try to imitate their very first teacher which are their parents. The daughter will try on their mother’s clothes and make-up. The son will put on shaving cream and pretend to be like daddy. In short, children want to grow up as fast as they can. It would be a step forward if the parents would support this need for independence if they provide a room or playroom just for the child to domain over. Set it up with decorative furniture for children and it will be perfect! The parents can tell the parents that it is their room and everything in it is their responsibility. The children will learn to become more independent and resilient.

bunk-bedDecorating your child’s room can be an arduous task, but it’s important to remember that the room should be functional, and also fun. For example, instead of having a plain old wooden chair, have a bean bag chair; they’re great for gaming, reading, or even napping. When selecting a bed, consider a bunk bed, or even an elevated bed with the area underneath converted into a desk or entertainment center. Elevated beds can also make great use of smaller spaces (since the bed and desk/entertainment area underneath occupy the same space). Wall decorations can also be a lot of fun. Instead of wallpaper, paint the room a neutral color and use decals, posters, and pictures to decorate (this saves time later if you ever resell your home or if it’s rented).

Implementing these fun ideas is sure to please your child; they’ll have an enjoyable space designed just for them for years to come!

bunkbedWhen I was growing up, I always dreamed of having a bunk bed in my room. Not that I had to share my living space with any siblings or family members, but I just thought that it would be fun to sleep on a top bunk. When I went to summer camp I was always the first one to claim the top bunk for myself.

One summer, however, I went to military camp and my affinity for the top bunk soon subsided. Every morning we were forced to meticulously make our beds before an inspector would measure our folds, making sure they were precise down to the inch. I quickly learned that the bed making process wasn’t easy for the guy on top, and did some negotiating to procure a more accessible bunk.
