You can tell a lot about a person by the books they’ve read and own. But how should you go about choosing a location and a means to display your literature? After all, your house guests will want to admire your book collection, but it won’t do much good to have them sitting on a dusty shelf or packed up in boxes. The first step to displaying your library is choosing a location. Think about the kind of person you are; if you’re outgoing perhaps display your books in a family or living room. If you’re more of a no-nonsense business professional, display your books in the home den or office bookcases. If you prefer to be more reclusive and private, a bookcase near your bed can be appreciated by just yourself and a select few others; it really depends on your personality.
The second step to display your library of literature is to choose a bookcase that represents you. If you like science fiction novels, think of a contemporary bookcase. If you enjoy the classics, a rustic bookcase made from a rich wood will suit you well.
Does your bedroom look a little bland? Did the duvet you bought to spice things up just not work out? When it comes to the bedroom, a space which is inviting, warm, and accented with personal style will help you to sleep better and enjoy bedroom activities more. Covered with a colorful fabric or pattern, headboards make excellent additions to your bed set. You might also consider accent pillows for those times when you’re not sleeping, or just want to lie back and relax.
To address the bedroom as a whole, a fresh color of paint and new lighting fixtures will have a dramatic effect on how the room as a whole looks and feels. New window treatments will also affect how the room is lighted, and can be used to compliment the fabric on your bed set.
